17岁的郭敬明第一次来到上海,参加新概念作文大赛决赛。一副瘦弱的身躯走出机场,眼前是比老家繁华一万倍的东方第一都会。那是2000年,上海GDP4551亿,郭敬明的老家自贡市富顺县GDP 35亿。

电影中,主人公顾里换了115套衣服,戴着140万的钻戒、穿着26万的Fendi皮草。电影中的校服都是定制的Burberry,运动会上全员Nike,甚至打包行李时使用的都是LV手袋。
电影中的场景也奢华至极。顾里住的是外滩江景房、用的是爱马仕毛毯。甚至郭敬明还拿出了自家豪宅,包括他购买的汪精卫四姨太的旧宅,全部都用来做布景。

电影播出后,批评其拜金主义的人很多。四部曲豆瓣评分都在5分上下徘徊,但这并不妨碍《小时代》系列总票房加起来接近20亿,观众用金钱成就了金钱。
凭借《小时代》,郭敬明完成了从图文到视像的转型,通过作家身份的输出,既填补了“感性郭敬明”的精神黑洞,还击和战胜了“曾经的物质和外在不满足导致的内心自卑”,又在商业运作上,以电影导演的新身份完成了“理性郭敬明”的财富狂欢,成就了个人的大时代。

4年后,姚亮入选了由《最小说》主办的第二届“文学之新”写作新人选拔赛,一档作文版超女快男,评委包括刘震云、周国平、曹文轩等。赢得比赛,可以获得价值100万元的新人量身打造计划。
来自全国的45位海选选手在北京长江文艺出版社集合,走廊两侧布满摄像头,摆出明星走红毯般的阵仗。主办方给他们换上白衬衫,做好造型妆发,鼓舞这群青少年像身处名利场一样社交。
姚亮清楚记得,在第二轮选拔中,30位选手要依次走过一条漫长漆黑的走廊,每次“觐见”要走5分钟,宣布命运的导师就坐在走廊尽头的沙发椅上。
但很遗憾,姚亮最终没有走上郭敬明的路。最后他只领到了一句“答应我,你一定要永远写下去”的淘汰版台词。
当晚,15位晋级选手换上主办方提供的晚礼服,前往国贸一座高层大厦开庆功宴,香槟塔喝到醉醺醺。与这种灯红酒绿的生活失之交臂的姚亮,一度感到深深的挫败,在比赛前半段的捧杀铺垫之下,他觉得自己是个二流的人。
但现在十几年过去,曾经的郭敬明男孩姚亮,已回归成一名有着普通兴趣爱好与梦想的素人。他称自己早已走出了郭敬明心智,那句精心设计的淘汰语——“请你一定要写下去”,“也只能伤害到10年前的我了。”
当青年人与郭敬明在豪宅和老破小交叉的十字街口相遇,郭敬明仍然住在豪宅里,但青年人已经脱敏,注定彼此成为最熟悉的陌生人。
那一刻,郭敬明已几乎成为中国城市化浪潮下,一个自恋型书写却无人买单的牺牲者。
