The big promotion is coming soon, this is the first big promotion for FBA's new policy to take effect! As sellers in the US, we are very careful when shipping, afraid of pitfalls... What can we do to avoid warehouse defects?
After the seller creates a shipment on the seller platform and selects the appropriate inbound configuration service, the goods will enter the cross-border transportation process and be delivered to the corresponding warehouse. During this process, Amazon Logistics (FBA) may reject shipments that do not meet Amazon Logistics shipping requirements.
Now, when your product does not meet Amazon's shipping requirements or is different from your inventory and storage plan, Amazon may charge a storage defect fee to cover the additional costs required for re shipping, receiving, and processing the product.
one
The shipment has been delivered to the wrong location
The shipment was sent to a different operation center than the one listed in the inbound plan.
two
Deleted and discarded shipments
Domestic shipments were not delivered within 45 days after the creation of the shipment;
The international shipment was not delivered within 75 days of its creation;
In multiple destination inventory plans, other shipments were not delivered within 30 days after the first shipment.
Please note:
If you use Amazon API or third-party ERP to create shipments and only confirm a portion of the items in the inventory plan, the remaining unconfirmed items will also result in the issue of abandoned items, leading to inventory defect fees. The inventory configuration service fee will be recalculated based on the actual number and location of received items. For example, if you create an Amazon optimized inventory plan (5 items) but only confirm and complete one of the items, Amazon will charge you a single point of entry fee, and the other 4 items you abandon will be subject to payment of the inventory defect fee.

Choosing stable and reliable cross-border logistics is crucial!
Amazon recommends using Amazon SEND during peak season to enter FBA operations centers for stable performance and assistance in achieving inbound performance.

How to avoid shipping to the wrong location
Before shipping, carefully check whether the shipping label matches the operation center and address in the system to avoid delivery to the wrong address due to incorrect labeling.
If you use a third-party logistics company, be sure to determine and track the expected shipping center for the shipment. This can avoid sending to the wrong location due to mixed shipments from logistics companies.
Tips
Why are these important? Not every Amazon operations center is the same, they can only handle specific products. For example, some specialize in handling small or large items; Some will provide additional protective measures specifically for electronic products or hazardous liquids. If you send laundry soap to an operations center that only handles clothing, the receiving time will be severely delayed.

How to avoid deleted and discarded shipments
When creating a shipment, try to include items with similar shipping and transportation times in the same inbound plan. Avoid sending items from the same shipment plan by air or sea as much as possible, and avoid exceeding the 30 day time limit mentioned above.
Once the shipment is created, it should be shipped as soon as possible. If for any reason it is temporarily not possible to ship or if you want to change the approved inbound plan, you must delete all shipments within that plan before any of them are delivered to FBA.
If you use a third-party logistics company, please fill in the accurate warehouse delivery time period in a timely manner when creating the shipment. Before the start of this time period, you can modify the estimated delivery time period on the seller platform according to the actual situation at any time. There is no need to fill in this time period when using Amazon SEND to avoid inventory defects caused by it.
Tips
Why are these important? When Amazon receives the shipment plan you create, it will assume that the shipment will be delivered to the designated operations center on time according to the plan. Amazon will start preparing to receive your inventory products and arrange the manpower and resources of the operations center. If your shipment does not match the plan, it will affect Amazon's prediction and the ability to allocate inventory reasonably in the FBA operational network, ultimately affecting your delivery time and the inability to place inventory closer to customers in a timely manner, thereby hindering customers from purchasing your product.
one
What if I don't send inventory to the Amazon operations center specified in the inventory plan, or if I send incomplete shipments (delete or abandon some of them)?
A: Amazon will charge you an Amazon logistics warehousing configuration service fee based on the actual storage location and quantity received 45 days after receiving the shipment. If the shipment is sent to a location different from the inbound plan (by the wrong route), or if it is not delivered to the Amazon Operations Center within the time frame specified in the inbound policy (deleted or abandoned shipments), Amazon will charge Amazon Logistics inbound service fees based on the actual received shipment and the inbound location, which may be higher than the estimated fees at the time of shipment creation.
two
What should be done if there is a misjudgment of incoming defects?
A: If you believe that there is a misjudgment of the warehouse defect, you can submit an application for investigation within 30 days of receiving Amazon's warehouse defect notification.
